The Studio

Kerala's craft, in every room.

Wellcraft Interiors designs Kerala-inspired luxury interiors for villas and apartments in Hyderabad and Kochi.

Every room is made with our partner artisans from Kerala, craftspeople whose skill with wood, brass and stone gives each home its character, and built on multiwood, sourced from leading makers in Kerala.

Interior material samples: teak, painted fluted panels, brass, laterite stone and kasavu handloom
Built on multiwood

Beautiful on the first day. Beautiful after every year.

Most interiors are built on ordinary commercial plywood: thin layers of wood glued together. It does well in a dry room, but damp, termites and time are its weak points. We build on multiwood, an engineered board made as a substitute for wood, sourced from leading makers in Kerala.

Durability
Ordinary plywoodCan swell, peel apart or rot if it stays damp. Needs chemical treatment to keep termites and borers away.
MultiwoodWater- and termite-resistant all the way through. It does not swell, rot or attract termites, so it suits kitchens, bathrooms and wardrobes on outer walls.
Finish
Ordinary plywoodWood grain and gaps must be covered up. Edges need edge-strips, which can lift over time.
MultiwoodA smooth, even core. It takes PU and automotive-grade paint for a deep, flawless finish, or laminate. Edges are sanded and painted to match, with no strips to lift.
Look & design
Ordinary plywoodMostly flat panels, covered with laminate or veneer.
MultiwoodCarved and shaped like timber: fluting, jaali patterns, curves and traditional Kerala motifs, in any colour you choose.

No trees are cut to make multiwood, and it is fully recyclable.
